Online Safety

Everyone loves the internet! It lets us communicate with people in different countries, share photos with friends, play online games, read about practically anything, listen to music, watch videos and much more. In fact, it’s a miracle we ever coped in an offline world! So as a young person, it’s really important that you have full access to the internet and understand how to use it, as it is fast becoming a part of everyday life.

However, as you probably know, the internet and mobile phones can also be used for some pretty nasty stuff. Bullying, theft, sharing illegal content and spreading viruses, are just some of the threats out there and just because they happen in cyberspace doesn’t mean they can’t seriously affect you in real life. It’s very important to use common sense and keep your wits about you when online or using your phone. After all, you wouldn’t run around London handing out your personal details to strangers, would you? Well, then why do it over MSN or Facebook? It’s also really important to let your parents, teachers or carer know what you are doing online, so if anything goes wrong they can help you. Check out the advice below for some top tips on safe surfing.
