With all the images of super skinny models and photoshopped faces flying around it’s no wonder that many people end up with a distorted perception of how they look. Conditions such as anorexia and bulemia are very serious and can be triggered by low self-esteem, excessive worrying about weight, teasing, bullying or a traumatic event. Such disorders can quickly get out of control and even become fatal. Sufferers of eating disorders often go to great lengths to hide their condition from parents, so friends are frequently in the best position spot the problem and intervene. If you or anyone you know suffers from an eating disorder, get in contact with the organisations below.
