Nahimul Islam, 15, from Wapping was elected as your new Young Mayor of Tower Hamlets in January. He is supported by deputies Tasmina Khanum, 15 and Nadeem Miah, also 15.
One month after becoming Tower Hamlets’ fifth Young Mayor, we caught up with Nahimul Islam and one of his deputies, Nadeem Miah, to find out what they’ve been doing and how they’re finding their newfound fame. Read the exclusive interview here.
The Young Mayor team visited the house of commons in early March to attend the UK Youth Parliament Induction for new UK Youth Members of Parliament.
During their visit they also met with the MP for Tower Hamlets, Jim Fitzpatrick, and discussed issues affecting young people in Tower Hamlets.
