Young Mayor Candidate Manifesto
My name is Nadeem Miah. I am a normal boy off the streets, with a passion to make some changes, to raise my voice for the hundreds of young people out there in Tower Hamlets that are being left out by the system and are wanting a second chance, a chance to not only get back on their feet but a chance to be recognised, acknowledged and catered for.
One of my aims, if selected as young mayor would be to help young people access cheaper healthy foods and raise awareness about healthy eating. I want to encourage young people to maintain a healthy lifestyle without getting a hole in their pockets and by utilising the already existing services that are tailor fit for young people. I want to encourage schools to run healthy cooking sessions after school where young people, both girls and boys can learn how to cook healthy foods and maintain healthy lifestyles.
I feel very passionately about crime, drugs and conflicts. Many of my friends and people I know have given into peer pressure around joining gangs and indulge in criminal activities. I want to help and support these young people that believe they don’t have anywhere to turn and are left picking up the pieces all by themselves. I want to ensure these young people are getting into services that will give them a hand in steering their lives back into the right direction. I want to help these young people understand they don’t need to give up on their dreams just yet and with a little bit of hard work and commitment they can still achieve what they always wanted to do.
So vote for me and I promise to change lives for the better!
