Young Mayor Candidate Manifesto
My name is Tasmina Khanum and I am15 years old. I am currently in Year 11 studying Sociology, Graphics and Drama as part of my GCSE’s. I am a self motivated person who can work well independently and with others. I believe I am confident and that it is one of my best qualities. I am a sociable person who thrives under pressure in any sort of circumstances.
Another one of my best qualities is that I’m very organised and that I’m naturally able to keep up with a regular timetable. These are all skills and qualities which I could bring to the Young Mayor role and which are also necessary in order to be a successful Young Mayor. I have a deep passion for this role and it is something I enjoy. I have no doubt that I will be successful as a Young Mayor if I was given the chance. I believe that this is a chance I cannot miss and an opportunity which I cannot drop. One of the main reasons I want to be the Young Mayor is because ever since the Young Mayor elections came to Tower Hamlets we have only ever had one mayor from our school, I want to continue the success.
My three main priorities:
- Breaking down stereotypical views on Further Education for girls (in specific views in the Asian community and families).
- Improving on facilities available for the youth already.
- Having a safer community where younger and older people work together to achieve this.
