Be part of the Youth Service Games 2013 this summer. If you are aged between 13 to 19, or 25 if you have SEN/LDD, you can take part.
We’re looking for young people to represent their area in Tower Hamlets by competing in six main sports – football, table tennis, basketball, badminton, rounders or BMX track racing.
The competition offers the chance to win medals and trophies, and the winner of the most medals in each area will be made the games Champion.
Sign up at your local youth club to qualify for the preliminary competition rounds in May 2013.
The games will include:
- Football: 5 a side with 2 substitutes.
13-15 (Boys), 16-19 (Boys), 13-16 (Girls), 16-19 (Girls)
- Table Tennis: 13-15 (Boys), 16-19 (Boys), 13-16 (Girls)
- Basketball: 3 a side
13-15 (Boys), 16-19 (Boys), 13-16 (Girls)
- Badminton: 13-15 (Boys), 16-19 (Boys), 13-16 (Girls), singles, doubles (open doubles)
- Rounders: 13-19 with optional mixed or only boys/girls
BMX track race: 13-15, 16-19 for boys and girls
Preliminary rounds to be held between the periods of Monday 27 May – Friday 5 July 2013.
Youth Service Games Finals will be held on Thursday 15 August 2013.
Young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) / Learning difficulty or disability (LDD) (up the age of 25) are especially encouraged to sign up and take part in the games.
